La lavanda cresce in piccoli fusti legnosi, con foglie grigio-verdi: culmina in deliziose spighe di fiori viola.
 
Il suo profumo è inconfondibile: i fiori possono essere essiccati ed utilizzati per profumare gli ambienti, i prodotti da bagno e anche per cucinare! 
 
È adorata anche dalle api, e non piace alle zanzare!
Non teme il freddo, ma meglio piantarla in zone ben esposte al sole e ventilate. Teme invece il ristagno d’acqua.
